Summarize your current situation (family, work, hobbies, etc.): Have been married for 7 years this July and - surprise, surprise - had our first child in July 2006! Our little miracle boy was named after my mother's late twin brother . . . Marvin. Wiley "hey, that's my grandpa's name" name :) Went back to work in October and my husband now stays home to hang with the peanut - they are doing great together! I work at a very innovative family-oriented 11-attorney law firm owned and run by 3 women, so private practice is actually do-able. Prior to baby, our dogs were our kids - 4 big, in-house dogs - 3 pit bull mixes (12, 9 and 1 1/2 years) and 1 german shepard (15). Am also on the Executive Committee for Women Lawyers of Sacramento - I take Marvin with me to all the events I can - we are true advocates for a balanced work life!
Life summary for 1987-2022: After graduation went to Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, and graduated with BA in English Lit. in 1991. Moved to Salem, OR, where I worked in the legal field until August 1997 when I came back to CA. Graduated from UOP McGeorge Law School in 2002 and passed the bar (on my 2nd try) in 2003. Currently defending subcontractors in construction defect litigation . . . do I represent the good guy or the bad guy - depends on who you talk to ;) Spoken like a true lawyer . . .
