City: San Luis Obispo
State/Prov.: CA Occupation: Full-time Mom Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Summarize your current situation (family, work, hobbies, etc.): I have been married to my wonderful husband, Thom, for 14 years now. We are living the "SLO" life (I just had to say it) with our three children. I am staying home to raise the kids (I finally understand the term "Mom's Taxi") and Thom is an Architect working in a local firm. Summarize your life history for the last 20 years: Busy, busy and still busy...I went to Chico State for a few years before transferring to Cal Poly and earning a degree in Interior Design. I got married and, after a lot of moving around, we settled in Walnut Creek. We had three kids there (Jeremy 9, Kevin 6 and Mia 2) and I started staying home right before I had baby #2. After finishing remodeling our house, minutes later (or so it seemed) we decided to return to San Luis Obispo and that's where we have been for a year and a half (remodeling another house, of course). |

State/Prov.: CA Occupation: Mother Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Summarize your current situation (family, work, hobbies, etc.): Currently I am at home full-time with my 3 children, 9,7 and 18 months old. I home school the 2 oldest which serves as a wonderful full-time job. For the past 2 years I have coached 7th grade girls volleyball in the fall. My husband, Dak, and I are Young Life leaders here in Colusa. Summarize your life history for the last 20 years: After graduating from Chico State with a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science I moved with my husband, Dak, to Colorado Springs and did a dietetic internship for a year to become a registered dietitian. Upon completion of that we moved back to Chico where I worked in community nutrition full-time and clinical nutrition part-time. After nearly 5 years of marriage we had our first child, and I quit my full-time job to stay at home. I continued to work part-time at a hospital until we moved to Colusa. Our move was prompted by my husband's teaching job as well as our involvement with Young Life. Leading YL in Colusa while living in Chico was not ideal or very effective. In 1999 we moved down here and have been here ever since. We continue to be very involved in Young Life as well as coaching. |
